The Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund will continue to make apprenticeships and most on-the-job training free until 31 December 2022.
Now is the time to build the capabilities of your crew.
With $57.3 billion of public funds going towards infrastructure projects until 2024, demand for skilled workers across the civil, energy, telecommunications and water sectors has never been higher.
Free Trades Training is helping to plug the skills gap, encouraging new people into infrastructure, including currently under-represented groups, such as women, Māori and Pasifika. It also supports current trainees to complete their qualifications and gives financial relief to employers.
Since its introduction in July 2020, Free Trades Training has almost doubled enrolments for Connexis’s infrastructure training programs.
A skilled workforce lends a competitive edge when tendering for contracts, increases productivity, and ensures quality and safety standards are met. Nurturing talent through learning opportunities builds a loyal team.
